This summer Italian-inspired restaurant, bar and karaoke joint Bunga Bunga will team up with one of Italy’s most iconic brands, to launch The House of Peroni presents L’Osservatorio.

Located on the first floor of Bunga Bunga, the elegant observatory will take guests back in time to 1963, a year of social and cultural transformation in Italy and the year that Carlo Peroni founded one of the world’s most stylish and innovative brands.

Inspired by the era of La Dolce Vita, The House of Peroni Presents L’Osservatorio will feature a retro wooden curved bar inspired by 1960s Rome and vivid abstract art. The design will offer an interesting fusion of the contemporary and the classic, with talented designer and artist, Andrea Riot re-interpreting the iconic Peroni Nastro Azzurro Blue Ribbon in the form of compelling blue calligraphy which will adorn the walls. With a 60-person capacity, the stylish room is perfect for private dining or a canapé reception and also houses a state-of-the art karaoke system, in true Bunga Bunga style.

The bar will serve Peroni Nastro Azzurro infusions, inspired by Simone Caporale’s (Assistant Head Bartender at the Artesian Bar) creations at The House of Peroni Residency held on 152 Brick Lane this May, as well as Nastro Azzurro Alta, the new sharing bottle, making L’Osservatorio the perfect place to experience Italian style. The Peroni Nastro Azzuro infusions include the Peroni Strawberry Field, an effervescent libation with sweet fruity notes and a hint of lemon; Peroni Limoni, a sweet, sour and refreshing cocktail that tastes like summer in a glass; Peroni La Piazaa, a tangy raspberry cocktail that will leave guests wanting another; The Forbidden Square, a unique blend of gin, Peroni, carrot juice and Cocchi Americano; and, the Peroni Negroni, made with Campari, martini Rosso and orange juice. With a wall and roof made entirely of glass, L’Osservatorio will also offer the chance to sip drinks underneath the stars.

Bunga Bunga was launched in 2011 by dynamic duo Duncan Stirling and Charlie Gilkes. Deriving its name from Italy’s most titillating joke, this tongue-in-cheek bar and pizzeria serves authentic cocktails and cuisine in a vibrant space dedicated to Italy’s finest icons. The Inception Group also own and operate Chelsea speakeasy Barts, 80s themed nightclub Maggie’s, Mr Fogg’s, a Mayfair based bar that is modelled on the home of Jules Verne’s most famous adventurer, Phileas Fogg. Last year they launched Cocobananas, a nightclub based on a Brazilian beach party and Beaver Lodge, a cabin bar and dance saloon based on the winter cowboy log cabins found in Wyoming. This spring they brought high spirits to Soho with late night 1940s-inspired bar, Cahoots, set in a hidden underground tube station.
