A Summer’s Evening in Chelsea’s Secret Garden

Join us for an exclusive after-hours event in the Garden this summer. An opportunity to visit the Garden after the bell has rung to send the last of the daytime visitors home, so you can enjoy its peace and tranquility at dusk.

You will meet our Head Gardener, Nick Bailey, who will give guided tours around the Garden highlighting its latest additions. See the Garden of Medicinal Plants and the newly opened World Wood Garden, which highlights the importance of trees in our lives from medicines, foods, building materials and musical instruments.

Visit the Garden’s Florilegium Society 20th anniversary summer exhibition: ‘London’s Secret Garden: Plant Portraits from Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium’. The exhibition will showcase exquisite watercolour images of plants grown in the Garden. A Society member will be on hand to talk to you about the exhibition before giving you the chance to spend some time appreciating this fine art.

Nici Ruggiero, the artist who created the ‘Curse or Cure’ apothecary jar installations in the Garden of Medicinal plants will be in the Garden to discuss her work with you.

There will also be time to explore the Garden with a refreshing summer drink and enjoy musical performances by a bamboo flautist.
