Ever wanted to throw a party in one of those gorgeous private communal gardens, but didn’t have a key? Well, your time has come. The flatmates of 68 Notting Hill Gate, not exactly known for doing this by the book, refuses to let the lack of an outdoor space stop them from celebrating summer, and will this month transform their humble abode into a not so secret, secret indoor garden.

A summer escape out of the ordinary, TLYD will play host to the only English garden where British skin won’t turn pink, and the sun never sets. Guests will be invited to take part in interactive dinner and drink parties, building on the already unmissable Little Yellow Door experience in a fun and original recreation of a non-existing outdoor space where cocktails will be served in watering cans and aquariums, and guests can enjoy their own tree house without a wasp in sight.

Complete with a wooden picket fence surrounding the room, astroturf decking the floor, wrought iron tables, and deck chairs in pale mint, the botanical hub will keep guests in brighter spirits, come rain or snow. The room will be decorated with potted plants around the edges, while an enormous parasol and blooming sunflowers will be brightening up the space, in true TLYD style. Local Notting hillers can even request their own private key so they can visit the garden at anytime, without having to climb a fence or break an entrance.

The popular Notting Hill pop-up will also be gearing up their famous Friday dinner parties with a brand new menu based on their new Mexican flatmate, where guests can attend a four course dinner for only £35 including a comp cocktail, featuring dishes such as Cheesy Cornbread with Queso Fresco, Chorizo, Roasted Red Peppers and Tomatillo Salsa. Chipotle Glazed Lamb Asado with Corn Polenta, Roasted Sweetcorn, Red Pepper, Lamb Chicharrones, Lime Pickled Red Onions and Pebre Salsa and Mixed Latin American Petit Fours to finish. As the meal comes to an end, tables and chairs are removed and the real house party, known for keeping Notting Hill Gate up at night, begins…

Since the quirky pop-up bar, based on a fictional flatshare, opened its Little Yellow Door in October 2014, it has rapidly become a West London institution, and the infamous house parties have seen queues lining up far down Notting Hill Gate. Their popular Friday dinners tends to get booked up weeks in advance and they also host more casual Wednesday Kitchen Supper, where anyone can pop in and pop-out, in the only London venue where bookings can be made via What’s App. It is true what they say: “Visiting The Little Yellow Door, you may arrive with three friends and leave with ten…”

And trust us, the grass is ALWAYS greener behind The Little Yellow Door…
