Hyper Japan Christmas Market

This year’s Christmas Market will fill the entire Tobacco Dock, a grand and historic venue located in London’s East End (one stop from Bank). The picturesque setting and huge range of goods, food and drink, gaming, activities, Japanese guests and more will allow visitors to get the best of a Tokyo shopping experience, combined with all the Christmassy atmosphere of London!

Entertainment
Our festive entertainment will feature a huge variety of activities, shows and acts, including: cosplay events, gaming areas, art tables, family activities, Japanese musical entertainment and experts speaking about a range of cultural topics. There’ll be multiple stages around the venue hosting all manner of performances throughout the event, so make sure not to get too swept away with your festive shopping! Come along, rest your feet, and prepare to be amazed, educated and inspired by our Christmas Market guests.

Eat-Japan
This winter’s Eat-Japan area will be scaled up immensely, overwhelming your taste buds with a heavenly barrage of Japanese food and drink. Lunchtime browsers in search of mouth-watering morsels will find it hard to choose between our wide selection of Japanese street food – with highlights such as tempura, takoyaki, gyoza and okonomiyaki making stomachs rumble all around! Sushi lovers will be delighted to hear that our prestigious Sushi Awards will return for another thrilling instalment, on top of our usual fantastic range of raw fishy treats freshly diced and prepared in the Eat-Japan food court. A divine array of Japanese confections including traditional treats, macaroons, cakes, cookies, ice cream and candy will be on hand to satisfy the casual snacker as well as those in search of something a little special to give to their loved ones this Christmas. Finally, Christmas-themed demonstrations and seminars from experts in Japanese cuisine will take place throughout the event, inspiring visitors to add a pinch of Japanese flavour to their own dinner table this festive season.

Culture
The Culture area in our Christmas Market 2015 will showcase the fascinating world of Japanese culture in both its modern and traditional forms. Martial arts displays, technology, folk music, tea, arts and crafts, travel advice, traditional clothing and many more shows, attractions and goods will be on offer, and visitors are sure to find something which piques their interest. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more awe-inspiring celebration of every aspect of Japanese culture this side of the Pacific!

Fashion
This winter’s HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market will take you on a magical sleigh ride to a world of Japanese fashion unrivalled by anything else in the UK! Kawaii ensembles will line up side-by-side with more traditional kimono, and there’ll also be plenty of gorgeous outfits and accessories from UK designers who have been inspired by Japan’s unique aesthetics. Say ‘sayonara’ to the boring old socks and jumpers of yesteryear – things just got a whole lot more exciting underneath your Christmas tree!
