The owners of two beautiful private gardens in Mill Hill Road, Richmond, are throwing their gates open to the public this Friday (21 August) in support of the British Red Cross.
The gardens boast unusual shrubs and plants, fruit trees and vegetable beds on display, offering guests seclusion and tranquillity amid the urban hustle and bustle, as well as a wildlife haven of sunny and shady areas, ponds and topiary.
One features an oasis of colourful and scented climbers, while the other is home to 50 foot herbaceous borders with shrubs, climbing roses and a lavender hedge.
Guests will also enjoy a plant and conserve sale, including refreshments on arrival, on a sunny terrace amongst a display of wall shrubs, pots of lilies and citrus and a spectacular collection of pelargoniums.
The British Red Cross Open Gardens programme offers a rare opportunity to explore the secrets of hidden and private gardens not usually open to the public, with a spectacular list of gardens of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK.
