Performance Storytelling by Xanthe Gresham & Nick Hennessey

From Merlin to Malory, Camelot to Excalibur, Morgana le Fey has reigned supreme as the fiendish counter Queen to King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Playing by her own rules, she foils their quests, dismantles the fragrant towers of each princess and wreaks general havoc from the safety of the shadows.

Tracking down the spaces in between her many myths, internationally renowned performers and storytellers, Xanthe Gresham and Nick Hennessey use music, games and story to check-mate medieval misogyny. Thoroughly Modern Morgan, lightning rod of Avalon, is centre stage at last.

XANTHE GRESHAM
Xanthe Gresham is a storyteller with a distinctive, physical, performance style, who delights in the absurd and preposterous.

Xanthe started life as a teacher in Kentish town, until storyteller Ben Haggarty was invited into the school to perform…and she was smitten by an artform. Alongside performances in theatres and art centres, she works as a storyteller for Holland Park and The Chelsea Physic Garden and lectures on Storytelling Drama at the University of East London. She has performed in Festivals, schools and libraries in the UK, Ireland, France, Slovenia, Holland, Switzerland and New Zealand.

NICK HENNESSEY
A singer, songwriter and performance storyteller, Nick is a passionate performer whose love for the traditional culture of northern Europe forges together the note, the song and the spoken word into a unique, engaging style. He has worked extensively at folk, storytelling and literature festivals across the world. In London Nick has performed at the South Bank, Barbican, the Albert Hall, and at the Soho Theatre.

Nick has published three solo albums, the most recent of which, ‘A Rare Hunger’ released on Harbourtown Records, received critical acclaim on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction and numerous stations in the US.
