We are hosting a smashing dance band all the way from Amsterdam!

Neutral Ground Brass Band is an Amsterdam-based Second-Line brass band, formed in 2013 after the bandleader was inspired by a stay in New Orleans, the home of jazz, funk, soul, rhythm and blues and more.

The line-up is classic Second Line (drums, sousaphone, trombone, saxes and trumpets) and the music funky and hard-hitting. With two month-long European tours under their belts and a CD hot off the press the band has never been tighter. This is their first-ever gig in London.

Come on down and get high on original New Orleans jazz and funk! Let the brass move your ass!

Being brought up on a heavy diet of Carole King, The Beatles and Aretha Franklin makes me feel very lucky... or does it make me a cannibal?

Acantha Lang who grew up in the rich musical landscape of New Orleans. One would think that her musical journey began there, however it wasn’t until she moved to New York City that she found her voice. The first few years she was unsure about what career path she wanted to take but all that changed when she bought her first Blues CD at a local store in Harlem and immediately felt a connection. She says, “It felt like home." She immersed herself in the musical form, its history, and watched countless documentaries about BLUES greats like Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, and others.
