As part of its 2015 goodwill tour of the world, the Colombian Navy’s three-masted training ship will visit London’s Thames Quay, West India Dock from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2015.

The ‘ARC Gloria’, one of the biggest tall ships in the world still in service, left its home port of Cartagena on 26 June and has since visited ports in Portugal, Germany and Holland. During her four days in London the ‘ARC Gloria’ will be in open to the public for free tours onboard.

The ship has a crew of 150, including 67 final-year cadets from the Colombian Naval Academy and one dog “Black Pearl” the sailing black Labrador and the flagship’s mascot.

On Thursday 3 September 2015, the ‘ARC Gloria’ will arrive to Thames Quay, West India Dock, London, E14 9SG at 0800hrs where it will be welcomed by the Ambassador of Colombia to the UK Néstor Osorio and the Colombian community living in London.

Join us to welcome the ship sail in with its massive flag unfurled while the 67 cadets on the masts sing Colombia's national anthem

The ship will be open for public FREE tours during the following times:
• Thursday 3 September: 0900 to 1200 - 1400 to 1700
• Friday 4 September August: 0900 to 1200 - 1400 to 1900
• Saturday 5 September - Family Day, all welcome, Children activities
0900 to 1200 - 1400 to 1900
• Sunday 6 September - 0900 –1400 at West India Dock

Colombia Day by the River Thames

As part of the Totally Thames join us to celebrate a Colombia day by the river. There will be music, dancing and delicious Colombian food.

At 7pm the bascules of Tower Bridge will raise to allow the Colombian Navy’s three-masted training ship ‘ARC Gloria’ pass into the Upper Pool where 67 of its crew will balance on its masts singing the Colombian National Anthem.

Join us at Potters Field and along the riverside as we bid farewell to ‘ARC Gloria’.
