From first picking up a guitar as an 8 year-old in Dayton, Ohio, to making his name as a member of the legendary Sugarhill Records house band, it's been a long and twisting road for Little Axe and his raucous blues-based sound. He's performed on some of the most influential rap classics, and played with everyone from Grandmaster Flash and Lee 'Scratch' Perry, to Tackhead, James Brown and Robert Plant. But the blues were always at the heart of his sound, and these days Little Axe's sound explores the rich musical tradition he grew up with.
