Garden Suburb Theatre presents a brand new adaptation of Goldsmith's classic comedy.
Kate Hardcastle wants a real man, but her intended, Charles Marlow, doesn’t seem to be up to the job. So she is forced to bob and weave, tease and deceive – until the penny begins to drop… Meanwhile, her equally frolicsome cousin, the lovely Connie Neville, is out to get her devilishly smooth and handsome beau, George Hastings.
Their merry adventures become the subject of increasing mayhem, coming largely from Kate's unpredictable and outrageous half-brother, Tony Lumpkin. Spoiled rotten by his mama, he is driven to anarchy and bedlam in his quest to rescue these lovebirds.
You'll delight in the way the women twist the men every which way! This is a brand new adaptation of Goldsmith's masterpiece, updated to the 1950s, where retro glamour is the order of the day.
