"Truly a world class musician." Jacqui Dankworth

Drawing influences from the classic groups of the hardbop era such as Wynton Kelly and the Ray Brown Trio, the Rob Barron Quartet plays new arrangements of timeless popular songs, from Rodgers and Hart to Stevie Wonder, as well as original compositions. A mainstay of the London jazz scene, Rob has performed with artists such as Al Jarreau, Marlena Shaw, Phil Woods, Bob Mintzer and Benny Golson, the BBC Big Band, and the Ronnie Scotts All-Stars.

Colin Oxley is undoubtedly a class-leading guitar talent. Having been with Stacey Kent for many years, now currently appearing with the popular, hand-picked John Wilson Orchestra, he is also a professor at Guildhall School of Music in London where he teaches jazz guitar. He is admired by his peers as an exceptional musician.

BopFest! is a new jazz festival running from November 17th to 22nd 2015 during the EFG London Jazz Festival, featuring a week of the best of British bebop and straight ahead jazz, hosted in the beautiful Victorian wood-panelled music room at The Elgin in Ladbroke Grove, central London. The venue features a Yamaha grand piano and sound system, with cabaret style seating in front of the stage, with a capacity for 80 people. Food - The Elgin has an excellent kitchen - and drinks are available during the music.
