St John’s Smith Square will resound to the romantic music of Chopin as British pianist, Warren Mailley-Smith presents the third of eleven concerts in which he will perform all Chopin’s 200+ piano solo works, from memory. The first concert was reviewed in glowing terms: " ... here is a very fine Chopin interpreter indeed ... formidable technique ... breathtaking command of dynamic gradations ... wholly exceptional ... This quite memorable recital was justly rewarded with a spontaneous standing ovation." - Classical Source.

Described as 'Stunning' by Classic FM and 'The embodiment of the modern Romantic Concert pianist’ by Musical Opinion, this outstanding pianist is a favourite with London audiences and venues alike. Warren Mailley-Smith has played for the British Royal Family on many occasions and has given acclaimed solo recitals at Carnegie and Wigmore Halls as well as performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The last concert in the series before Christmas includes the second set of Chopin’s seminal piano Études which catapulted his reputation both as an artistic genius and leading exponent of virtuoso piano technique. The rarely played Sonata No. 1 was composed when he was 18 and is a highly experimental work which exhibits many of the characteristics of Chopin’s mature style: poetry, virtuosity, passion and breathtaking originality.

Close to the hustle and bustle of Westminster, the church of St John’s Smith Square offers visitors to London a unique concert experience. It is the only Baroque concert hall in the UK, with its history, superb acoustic, beautiful interior and the convenience of its own cafe and restaurant in the crypt offering concert goers maximum convenience for the perfect evening out.

So come and indulge yourself in a pre-Christmas treat and join us for a spectacular evening of uplifting music at St John's Smith Square, performed by this hugely talented British pianist.
