Identity affects everything, what you say and how you say it. But who’s listening?

Tate Britain hosts BP Loud Tate: I.D on Saturday 14 November, a free day of artist-led workshops, music, film, performance and talks to explore questions of power, politics and identity. Highlights will include everything from street art to beatboxing, film-making and badge-making alongside an exciting line-up of music.

BP Loud Tate is a free annual art, music and performance event at Tate Britain programmed by Tate Collective London for 15 – 25 year olds.

Highlights Include:

Performances by rapper, producer and top Grime MC, Novelist, multi-award winning rapper Ms Banks, hip hop artist ThisisDA, special guest DJ, glitch hop, dubstep and drumstep producer Terminite and the finest deep house from DJ Shea Burke.

Workshops include beat-boxer Jason Singh, who will teach visitors how to use their voices in strange and wonderful ways, collaborative street art workshops from Graffiti Life, and digital workshops that will turn your smartphones into film-making tool plus a special programme of smartphone film screenings co-curated by Eye Want Change and Tate Collective London. Drop-in badge making sessions will also invite visitors to share their own identities.

Talks byRadio 1Xtra youth advisor Jeremiah Emmanueland NUS Vice President Shakira Martin, who will share how they have used the challenge of social stereotyping as a catalyst for change to inspire hope, unity and change.
