Top session and gigging bassist brings popular long-running musicians’ Soho jam to the Spice. London-born, Yolanda Charles took up the bass at an early age, after a short stint with guitar. While still a teenager, Charles landed a gig with Scottish singer/songwriter Jimmy Somerville in his band, the Communards, and her career was underway. Since then, Yolanda has worked with music giants Sinéad O’Connor, Robbie Williams, BB King, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltry, Van Morrison, Jermaine Jackson and many others, in addition to fronting her own funk/fusion band, the Deep MO. GARETH BROWN drums, ROB HARRIS guitar, NOREEN STEWART vocals, JIM HUNT tenor sax & ROSS STANLEY keys.
