Oval Space Music presents Roman Flugel, The Black Madonna, nd_baumecker

Roman Flugel is a dance music chameleon. Across a 20 year career, Flugel has co-founded labels Playhouse and Klang Elektronik; collaborated with Ricardo Villalobos and Ata; produced exultant UK garage, revered 90s tech-house and oddball ambient electro. The Frankfurt native is best known, however, for his brand of feverish, bleepy techno, and a series of releases on Dial Records widely considered some of the finest dance records of the past decade. He's a dab hand on the decks too, a vastly experienced DJ with a long-held residency at Frankfurt institution Robert Johnson.

He's joined by nu-skool Chicago maestro, The Black Madonna. As the head booker for Chi-town hotspot Smart Bar, Marea has played a key role over the past few years in the city's musical renaissance. It was here, warming up for a slew of more recognised names, that The Black Madonna gained a reputation as the most gifted DJ to emerge from the Midwest in modern times. Disco, techno and house, mixed with passion and poise, has seen word of Marea's talent travel far from Chicago in the years since.

Rounding out the lineup is Ostgut Ton mainstay nd_baumecker. We've witnessed Andy destroy the dancefloor on the Friedrichshain - Kreuzberg border countless times. He's equally capable of pulling classic house and disco records in Panorama Bar, and ruthless, hypnotic techno down in Berghain. It's a pleasure to welcome him to Oval Space for the second time on February 20th.
