Legend’s is a very high accolade to lay upon any artist. In an era when we seem to be losing so many and realising what made them so outstanding, we cannot use the term lightly.

And we’re not! This is about the NEW (Nu) artists that we truly believe are taking those first steps to greatness.

To kick off this exciting new night we have a fresh line-up of three of the UK’s rising stars:

Etta Bond
A.O.S.O.O.N
Basheba

Etta Bond:

After a fluke myspace encounter, Etta Bond met artist/producer Labrinth. Within hours of meeting they had written and recorded “What is it you Do?” and the two began a working relationship that would be crucial in Etta’s career with her also working on his hits ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ and ‘Earthquake’. A testament to his belief in her, Labrinth made Etta the first artist to be signed to his production label ‘Odd Child’. She appeared on Wretch 32’s single Forgiveness, Plan B’s single, Playing with Fire, and Labrinth’s, Under the Knife.

Inspired by the likes of Jill Scott, Billie Holiday, Etta James and Amy Winehouse, Etta has a superb finesse when it come to songwriting, a powerful delivery teeming with a vulnerability and honesty that will warm even the coldest heart.

Recently, she has recorded features with Plan B, Professor Green, Wretch 32, and Kano. She is currently focused on completing her album and collaborating with many different artists in her field. She will continue to work alongside Labrinth but for now is thriving as being one half of ExR along side Raf Riley. They recently released their debut EP, Emergency Room, leading with the disturbingly genius track, Boring B’s. Last year the duo opened for the Azealia Banks, Mermaid Ball at the Aquarium, and went on tour, supporting Labrinth, on his Electronic Earth Tour.

A.O.S.O.O.N

A.O.S.O.O.N ((A lot of something out of nothing – pronounced ‘a o soon’) are a male-female duo from South London, consisting of Marisa Hylton and Manny Folorunso. Their debut EP featured the captivating single ‘Under’ which was picked up by Majestic Casual and to date has received over 4.5million views on Youtube. The pair writes together, focusing on themes of everyday life. Their lyrics combined with their compelling production create an atmosphere that leaves crowds in awe. New EP ‘A lot of Something Out of Nothing’ is ode to the pair’s talent and undoubtedly the beginnings of a great career. Supported across the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk + BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, & Huw Stephenson A.O.S.O.O.N are definitely ones to watch in 2016.

Basheba:

Hailing from North West London, the beautiful and stylish Basheba brings us a unique, combination of drum & bass, blues, R&B and gospel. Basheba released her debut EP ‘Bad Friends, Good enemies’ in October 2014. She creates an evocative narrative in her music stating; “a song is nothing without a story. I’m a storyteller, I just tell my stories through song”. This storytelling inspired the artistic photographer Linda Blacker to work closely with Basheba to create images that have grabbed the attention of both music and fashion press alike. She has also received online backing from SBTV, Afro Punk, Mobo, Vevo and many more, along with radio support from BBC London, Radio 1, Radio 1 Xtra, Kiss FM and Capital Xtra. As well as being featured on MTV UK and US and having a sync on SKY sports with 1xtra Record of the Week track ‘High ‘n’ Dry’.

We'll see you there for a night to remember.
