Based on a true story, Ash by Bric à Brac explores the life of George Crozier and his journey from his first to his last cigarette. Set against a backdrop of the tobacco industry’s ever-changing advertisements, this humourous and sensitive production uses object manipulation, movement and live music to explore the highs and lows of a life-long love affair with smoking.
Bric à Brac are a new international ensemble made up of theatre-makers from Britain, Jersey, America, Italy and Norway, and graduated from Paris’s École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in 2015. The company’s core ensemble of actors, directors, writers and musicians have previously received acclaim for early versions of Ash at the Southwark Playhouse and through Creative Industries Trafford.
