Beethoven’s celebrated Sixth Symphony is followed by the London premiere of Oliver Tarney’s Magnificat, a piece which combines the traditional Latin text of the Magnificat with contemporary Jewish and Islamic accounts of Mary’s story. The result is evocative, thought-provoking and uplifting.
