Art History Lecture Series: Women in Art

Each of our engaging lectures is a self-contained exploration of a particular period or theme and can be enjoyed as a standalone session or as part of the series. However, each week we will build on the previous session, giving learners the chance to really grow their knowledge in Art History.

The lectures are delivered in partnership with Art Historical London.

Women in Art:
3 week series: 14th June – 28th June 2016

Women have always been involved with making art, despite the fact that they are grossly underrepresented in museums and galleries worldwide. This course will introduce women artists from the Middle Ages to the present, discuss some of the misconceptions about their art, and explore if women in art can be a platform for discussing women's issues.
