Broadgate has welcomed the ‘Reading Room’ as part of this spring’s wider Literary Greats celebrations. Running to Friday 25th May, the new pop-up space in Finsbury Avenue Square will host an array of literature-themed classes and activities throughout May, as well as providing a space in which to relax, read, and be inspired.

Located a stone’s throw from Liverpool Street Station, in Finsbury Avenue Square, the Reading Room offers the perfect escape from busy London life, and the daily buzz of the City. Venturing inside, plush sofas are accompanied by a ceiling to floor bookcase groaning with an abundant selection of books to suit all - from the literary classics of Roald Dahl and Charlotte Bronte, to contemporary page-turners from Julian Barnes and Paula Hawkins.

The pop-up will also host a series of free literary classes and talks at lunchtimes, from some of London’s best creatives; a convenient and inviting way to try something new and introduce inspiration to lunch breaks. Kicking off with comprehensive lessons in the therapeutic art of paper folding, the series will also offer visitors the opportunity to learn the hottest design trend of the moment - traditional origami. There will also be the chance to upcycle old journals into beautiful, unique creations using the Reading Room’s own design materials as well as personal memorabilia.

Running alongside the series, Broadgate’s varied restaurants will offer exclusive literature-inspired dishes throughout May. Rediscover literary classics with the delights of Moby Dick’s Clam Chowder at resident seafood expert Crab Tavern and Don Quixote’s duelos y quebrantos - scrambled eggs with chorizo and pancetta - at José Pizarro.

Broadgate’s Literary Class Series starts with; Origami Decorations where people can learn beginner folding techniques to create literary themed hanging diamonds made from discarded books.
