After auditioning over a 100 local school children this March, Earls Court-based performance artists, The Earls Courtiers, have finally concluded their search for the perfect Alice for their June production of Alice in Wonderland in Barkston Gardens, Earls Court. The production celebrates the writing of Lewis Carroll's seminal novel 150 years ago this year and is in aid of the Brain Tumor Research Campaign.

The extremely talented pair of Josephine Surminski aged 10 from St Barnabas and St Phillips School and Sophia Woodward aged 11 from Fox Primary School stood out during an extremely competitive series of auditions across the SW5 post code. With past Earls Courtiers' productions attracting 1000s of visitors, Josephine and Sophia will share the load, with each actress taking two nights playing the role of Lewis Carroll’s most iconic character. In an effort to bring the Earls Court community together, the production has shunned the traditional casting of adult actors for the lead roles and instead turned to the boroughs talented youth. Children from Bousefield, Our Lady of Victories, Holland Park School, Fox Primary School, Eaton Square School, St Cuthbert’s, Redcliffe School and St Barnabas and St Phillips School all took part in the auditions.

Join the residents of Earls Court this June, as Barkston Gardens, situated in the centre of Earls Court, is transformed into a magical Wonderland, complete with flamingo croquet lawn, across four summer evenings. Performances will run from Wednesday 22nd June to Saturday 25th June, starting at 7.30pm. All profits from the productions will go towards supporting the Brain Tumor Research Campaign (BTRC), a cause close to the Earls Courtiers' hearts. Hotel Indigo will provide a Mad Hatter style catering for the event.
