LINCOLN SELIGMAN’S TRAVELS IN INDIA - AN ENGLISH ARTIST’S TAKE ON THE LUMINOUS COLOURS OF INDIA FOR SOLO EXHIBITION AT THE OSBORNE STUDIO GALLERY

17TH MAY TO 4TH JUNE - following Royal Tour an artist’s personal vision of India


India in the news during Royal Tour – new exhibition of Indian paintings by Englishman Lincoln Seligman. He captures with humour and charm flowing turbans, maharajas in Rollers, landscape and seashore, carefree glimpses of people.

Lincoln Seligman (born 1950) new Indian paintings will be shown at the Osborne Studio Gallery London from 17th May to 4th June.

He has Indian connections through Jungle Book author, Rudyard Kipling, a neighbour, who was ‘my mother’s godfather’. His paternal grandmother was a painter who lived in the Himalayas.

He has visited India many times, particularly loves painting turbans, inspired by the brilliant colours of Rajasthan. ‘I can’t paint enough of them,’ he laughs, ‘they walk off the wall.’
We hope that this exhibition may encourage people to visit India and gain new perceptions of the country.
