On Thursday 2nd June 2016, Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity, is launching a ground breaking virtual reality Android smartphone app experience, ‘A Walk Through Dementia’, at St Pancras international. This revolutionary app aims to shine a light on the lesser known symptoms of the condition as well as the challenges that people living with dementia face in everyday life.

Compatible with Google Cardboard, this pioneering and fully immersive technology will be unveiled at an exclusive three day pop-up event at the station to help raise awareness of this greatly misunderstood condition.

Voiced by Olivier Award-winning actress Dame Harriet Walter and introduced by highly acclaimed broadcaster Jon Snow, users are taken on a journey to make a cup of tea, ordinarily a simple task but not from the perspective of someone with dementia. From visiting the supermarket to travelling home and putting the kettle on, participants will experience a diverse range of symptoms, including difficulty with reading, numeracy, visual-spatial problems, coordination and disorientation.
