Happy Birthday Miss Monroe

ONGALLERY TO HOST MARILYN MONROE POP-UP EXHIBITION OF LIMITED EDITION PRINTS IN ASSOCIATION WITH PLAYBOY CLUB

ONGallery, the recently launched online art gallery, is proud to announce Happy Birthday Miss Monroe, a month-long pop-up exhibition starting from 2nd June of rare and limited edition prints of the legendary Marilyn Monroe to celebrate what would have been her 90th birthday.

In association with the Playboy Club London, the images span sixteen years of Marilyn’s short life, from 1946 as a young ingénue known as Norma Jean Baker to the famous “Last Sitting” images by Bert Stern taken just six weeks before her death. Many of the over 50 images are truly iconic and include the famous billowing white dress pictures from “Seven Year Itch”, to rare images of a very young, fresh and innocent Norma Jean by Tom Kelley. All prints will be available for sale at the exhibition, as well as from ONGallery’s website, www.ongallery.com with prices ranging from £110.

The collection will include rare images signed personally by Hugh Hefner, including a nude Marilyn as Playboy’s first ever “Sweetheart of the Month”, an image that was instrumental in launching the magazine to become a global phenomenon. The exhibition will also feature works by acclaimed artists and photographers such as Andy Warhol, Milton Greene, Frank Worth, Douglas Kirkl and, Tom Kelley and Earl Moran, to name but a few.

The images will be available to view and buy at The Showroom Presents, 25 Effie Road, Fulham Broadway, SW6 1EL, from Thursday 2nd June to Thursday 30th June, 10am – 6pm.
