gpstudio proudly present an installation of brand new works by British sculptor Arran Gregory in The Arch Window.

gpstudio spotted Arran’s work in an East London gallery and got in touch to see if he was interested in getting involved with The Arch Window. Arran created the never-before-seen sculptures for the installation and his bold work has been drawing in a lot of attention.

The install features a two-part sculpture depicting a contrasting white/ black life-sized leopard in conversation with a mirror-like black box, alongside two hanging ‘Wall based sculptures’ of structural cube forms drawn in black tape. The colour of the black box appears to be being absorbed as the leopard enters into a space of focus.

AG’s practice explores the emotional reactions the primitive world provokes within the human psyche, in a curious focus towards our position within nature. AG’s work experiments with space, form, shape and colour (or lack of) and the boundaries between 2D and 3D.

I SIT AT MY DESK ALL DAY WHEN I SHOULD REALLY BE OUT HUNTING continues to explore themes of survival and evolution that often underly AG’s work.

Arran Gregory studied Graphic Design for communication at Chelsea College of Art and Design. Since then, his work has developed across a variety of platforms, with his bold, monotone line drawings experimenting with the same playful elements found within his sculptural work. He has recently exhibited in Berlin, Tokyo and currently has his work on show at this years Royal Academy Summer show in London.

The team at gpstudio are passionate about encouraging and celebrating creative talent, so they curate work by a wide variety of new and established designers, artists, illustrators and photographers, transforming the pavement outside into a free gallery, for the public to enjoy.

gpstudio have a long line of artist and sculptors already selected for the rest of 2016 going into 2017, so it is definitely a space to keep an eye on.

Arran's work will be on show in The Arch Window until the 31st July.
