To avoid family duties, Algernon Moncrieff, a bachelor-about-town, has invented a sick friend named 'Bunbury', who frequently calls him away from London. Jack Worthing has similarly invented a wicked brother, 'Ernest', who gets into scrapes that require Jack to leave his country estate and go into London. When Algernon arrives at Jack's posing as Ernest confusion and hilarity ensues.

With this production of 'The Importance of Being Earnest' the award winning Shooting Stars Theatre Company have brought Oscar Wilde's famous social exposé comedy bang up to date.

In the Gardens of the beautiful Hurst House, bring chairs, picnic rugs, food and drink. Drinks will be available.

Please note that the 'show will go on' come rain or shine so bring umbrellas and warm clothing as appropriate.

"Shooting Stars once again prove that they remain leaders in Fringe Theatre.."

"Five star- Utterly engaging family theatre.."
