Carnaval del Pueblo is proud to present our 7th Plaza Latina, London’s best Latin festival, bringing exotic, authentic vibes to Elephant and Castle on the 23rd July 2016.

From 12pm-9pm Nursery Row Park will be transformed into a Latin Barrio, celebrating the best of Latin American culture through dance, art and of course food with live music on stage all day long.

Looking for some traditional Colombian Cumbias? Or some cutting edge Reggaeton? We have music for everyone’s tastes, along with gorgeous dance presentations from an eclectic mix of groups from across London. International artist Juan Piña & his orchestra will be headlining the event direct from the coast of Colombia to make his debut appearance in the UK, bringing the best Tropical and Vallenato beats to London. Colombian Folk singer Maria Cristina Plata will join us as part of her world tour, and dust off your dancing shoes - Latin Ensemble will be playing the best live Salsa this side of Cali!

Throughout the day enjoy the talent and authentic costumes from a selection of London-based Latin performance groups, including Yurupari and Cali Swing. The GLA’s Big Dance Bus will be showcasing the best local performers– bring your costumes and join in with our dance workshops throughout the day!

Food more your thing? We have an assortment of delicious Latin American street food stalls from Venezuelan Arepas to Pupusas from El Salvador - a real taste of Latin America. Not forgetting of course, traditional Latin beers and delicious cocktails!

To top it all off there will also be interactive art workshops from Argentinian artist Laura X Carle for everyone to get involved with. Piñata making (and more importantly, breaking!) will keep the whole family entertained and learning all about the diverse cultures of Latin America.
