Archikids Festival is back for it's fourth year in the heart of the East End.

On 23 & 24 July the City of London Square Mile will be overrun by mini archi-tectives discovering the iconic buildings and hidden gems of the City, as part of the Archikids Festival 2016. Archikids is a weekend festival of free activities for kids and their families to explore the city. The Gherkin is joined this year by four new festival hubs; the roof garden of 6 Bevis Marks, the amazing spaces of Broadgate City of London and the changing spaces of Aldgate. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend of explorations!

What’s On?

An action-packed programme of 20+ activities is in store, to get children to learn about the architecture, engineering, and design of their city! A few festival themes for 2016 are:

Eco-Explorer

The ‘Green Warrior’ kid must try out conducting real energy at Light up the City and building a honeycomb home

Shelter in the City

Create your own habitat in the city! Experiment with different materials and shapes to design your space protected from the elements. Use the architect’s toolbox and build your fantasy space.

Races & Competitions

A bit of competitive spirit is welcomed at the Balloon Car Races, the On your Scooter trail and the giant lego race of On your marks, get set, LEGO!

Hatwalk Catwalk

‘Fashion stations are go! With a catwalk ready for you to strut your structural style this workshop invites families to design and make an architectural piece of headwear.’

An activity using a ‘hat-base’ to invite kids to think of structural form. Children build their own architectural-hat and then parade it on the ‘catwalk’.

… WITH LOTS MORE ACTIVITIES!
