Marjorie is alone at home when a man comes into her house and attempts to rape her, she manages to subdue her attacker and tie him up in the fireplace. When her house mates return they tell her to call the police, but with no witnesses and no evidence she fears that her attacker won’t get convicted and that she may never feel safe again.

American playwright William Mastrosimone wrote this play after talking to a rape victim. Her case went to trial but resulted in the rapist being acquitted. Later, the attacker confronted her on the courthouse steps with a warning that he intended to attack her again.
Extremities recently had a run at the Rialto theatre in Brighton during the Brighton Fringe Festival and was well received by the audience, now the show is coming to London and the Camden Fringe Festival. The show has also been invited to the Somerset Fringe Festival in late August.

Directing the play is Kate Sellers, who trained as a theatre director in London and Moscow. Since graduating she has directed numerous productions including Anastasia (★★★★ Evening Standard) and Misery (★★★★ The Scotsman). She has just finished directing Miss Julie at the Brunel Tunnel Theatre in Rotherhithe as part of their festival and is now in pre-production for the film Piotr which she wrote and will also direct.

The play is one of three shows that Sofa Productions will be bringing to the Camden Fringe in August. Starting off every evening at 6pm will be From Russia with Laugh, a one hour comedy show with three Russian short stories brought to life on stage. This is followed by Extremities at 7.30pm and later in the evening at 9.30pm, Fright Nights, the scariest show in the fringe, bringing you horror stories filled with blood and gore.
