Monty Cotton, a seasoned performer and musician woke up one day and realised he could imitate Johnny Cash. From this point on Monty has performed as Johnny Cash all around Australia and the UK including pubs, clubs, arts festivals, mine sites, corporate functions, breakfast radio, morning television, and 'The Voice' Australia.

Biography of Cast
From Sydney NSW, Monty has been supporting cover bands as a guitarist, drummer, bass player, backing singer and more since 2006. By chance he auditioned for Australian Idol in 2009 and managed to reach the top 40, narrowly missing out on the top 24. Inspired by this and success in subsequent talent competitions around Sydney’s Eastern suburbs Monty began to chase a solo career.

Monty’s style comprises his signature low voice and contrasting ability to belt out pub rock classics covering all style variations; Rock & Roll, Pop, RnB, Country, Blues, Soul, Celtic, and Folk to name a few!

Aside from appearing successfully on The Voice recently, Monty’s command of his acoustic guitar remains second-to-none and his sharp wit and smile never fails to radiate from stage

History of Show
‘A Boy Named Cash’ was born by accident when Monty woke up one morning and realised he could imitate Johnny Cash.
After building success with the Johnny Cash show Monty quit his full time job as an accountant to take up the contrasting turbulent life of a musician.
