As part of their Life in Tandem lecture series, Tandem explore Britain’s obsession with buying by delving deeper into housing alternatives and approaches.

The event taking place on 17th August will focus on housing - from buying to renting to building, to legal squatting – to help empower their customers to start their very own property revolution, armed with the knowledge that there are many paths you can take towards securing a home to call your own.

Tandem Bank have enlisted the help of lifestyle vlogger and 30-something perpetual renter Emily Hartridge to find out more about these alternatives. Like many, she’s typically confused when it comes to the topic of owning a home, but one thing she does know is that renting sucks. Tandem Bank challenged Emily Hartridge to explore the points of view from three different communities: The world’s largest co-living space The Collective, social enterprise Dot Dot Dot property guardians and TV property expert Marta De Sousa.

The event itself will be interactive - giving attendees the chance to meet Emily and the communities and gain some advice – all with the aim of planning their own home (whatever it might be) in the future.
