A Barber with an exceptional cast!

23-year-old Italian tenor Christian Collia (Count Almaviva) has conquered audiences in Italy’s best opera houses, 25-year-old Russian mezzo-soprano Anastasia Medvedeva (Rosina) is a graduate of the Monte Carlo Young Artists Opera Programme, South African bass Bongani Kubekha (Don Basilio) has been acclaimed as one of the best young singers of his continent, Alexander Robin Baker (Figaro) is a rising star of the English National Opera and 20-year-old conductor Gaetano Lo Coco has astonished critics with his skill and energy.

Rossini was just 23 years old when he composed The Barber of Seville. 200 years on from that marvellous achievement, a passionate group of 50 young musicians and singers bring to life the rip-roaring joy of the beloved masterpiece.

Outrageous characters, unforgettable melodies and hilarious plot twists will enthral you in a sparkling staging of the world’s greatest comic opera!

Join us for this colourful and unique performance featuring costumes by a rising fashion designer and sets by creative young sculptors and artists.
