Friarwood Wine Fine Merchant Tasting Evening

This September, fine wine merchant Friarwood will launch a new series of monthly wine tastings at their Parsons Green store.

Perfect for locals and those further afield, the store will be giving customers the chance to sample a wide range of wines each month, with tastings taking on different themes as they go on. Aiming to give guests the opportunity to explore a new world of wine, including vintages and regions they may not have tried before, the tastings will also offer food pairings with cheese and charcuterie.

The first tasting takes place on the evening of Wednesday 28th September. Starting at 6.30pm, it’s ideal for commuters just off the train at Parsons Green after a long day in the office, and will include an introduction to the new Friarwood team and a run-down of their latest wines by Managing Director Ben Carfagnini. A proud addition to the shelves and a wine to be showcased is the recently released Benjamin Bridge Canadian sparkling wines. The Benjamin Bridge winery offers classic sparkling wine and produced its first cuvees in 2002. The unique growing climate in the heart of the Valley is moderated by the powerful Bay of Fundy, home to the world’s highest tides, while its maritime climate promotes natural acidities and long ‘hang-time’, which are critical to producing sparkling wines of complexity and finesse as well as aromatic wines.

Each of the imitimate events will present and perfectly pair food sourced from the neighbourhood. For two dates only, Friarwood’s November and December tastings, will offer an exclusive luxury pairing with French caviar company, Caviar Sturia; a renowned caviar produced from sturgeon sustainably farmed in Bordeaux. Perfect for Christmas, it is a special collaboration to highlight the few hand-picked wines the team recommend ahead of the festive season.
