Coming to RISEgallery from the exciting emerging playwright Ben Miller, ‘Mesopotamia’ interrogates the fallen state of the Middle-East - once the reputed location of paradise, the Garden of Eden.

Inspired by the 1943 Guide to U.S. Forces Serving in Iraq that the playwright happened to come across in a coffee shop in Croydon, the play examines the ongoing conflict in the region, intermingling fragments of military guidance alongside reports of current atrocities and excerpts from the Book of Genesis.

Through the analysis of the well-meaning but frightening advice in the guide the play aims to explore the distant relationship with Middle-Eastern conflict and the way it is passively observed from the West.

With previous performances at Battersea Arts Centre and Matthews Yard, RISEgallery is proud to host this immersive and deeply thought provoking piece which will be performed by the talented Mickey Glenn, Emily Parrett and Maria Austin.

Doors open at 7pm. Please arrive early as seating will be limited.
