Award-winning author Fuchsia Dunlop will be at Asia House Tuesday 22 November to discuss her newly-published cook book Land of Fish and Rice, which explores the food of the fascinating Jiangnan region in East China.
The book is brimming with delicious recipes, each of which embodies the region’s celebrated culinary heritage. Classic recipes including Beggar’s chicken and Dongpo pork feature alongside many lesser-known dishes including oil-exploded prawns and Shanghai red-braised pork with eggs.
Named “Britain’s greatest authority on Chinese food” by the Guardian, Dunlop will discuss her years of study and exploration of the region in a talk that will leave you feeling hungry and knowledgeable about the enthralling Jiangnan region and its sumptuous cuisine.
A book signing and drinks reception will follow.
