888Live Festival

For Londoners looking for something a bit different this month with all the thrill and excitement of Vegas, 888poker has just the answer with its first ever 888Live Poker Festival.

The 11-day 888Live Festival (13th- 23rd October) will premiere at the UK’s biggest casino, Aspers Casino in Stratford, and will be hosted by poker starlet and ESPN presenter Kara Scott.

This huge celebration of poker will see Londoners spoilt for choice with a variety of tournaments and a wide range of entry fees (‘buy ins’ in poker terms) meaning that novices, would-be James Bonds, event seekers and experts alike can try their hand at some Vegas-style card action.

The festival will feature over fifteen tournaments with healthy cash prizes and a range of associated entry fees, including a £120 Lightening 6-Max and a £2,000 High Roller. The total event prize pool is estimated to be over £300,000, while the ‘Opening’ and ‘Main Events’ will boast £100,000 and £200,000 guarantees respectively.

To kick off the jam-packed festival, the Opening Event (which has a £220 buy-in) will feature three starting stages.

• £400 Mega Knockout Event (Friday 21st October)
• £880 888Live Festival Main Event (Thursday 20th October - Sunday 23rd October)

While hundreds are expected to participate in the 888Live Festival, it will also include appearances by poker pros Chris Moorman, Dominik Nitsche and Sofia Lövgren as well as sporting stars such as football legend Teddy Sheringham.
