Christmas is upon us and the Limehouse Social Market is going all out to celebrate in style, continuing our mission to unite the community by providing a social environment in which everyone is welcome. The market has been growing month on month, with Halloween being our largest and most successful event to date. We want to keep this momentum going with our Christmas markets, think baileys and hot chocolate, caroling, elves, Christmas craft workshops and community spirit, all with our backdrop of outstanding food, beautiful waterside location, retail traders and the Sugar For My Soul bar.


Our street food traders are some of the best on London’s food scene, and all of our regular favourites will be joining us once again to fill your bellies with delicious food and festive joy. Treat yourself to an early christmas present in the form of a burger from Backstreet Diner, a lovely turkish Gozleme from Oh My Gozleme or a steak sandwich from Angostura Steak House. Who said Christmas presents don’t come in the shape of a mouthwatering wrap from Kalimera or a lemon tart from Italian Recipe? Christmas tree socks or a bespoke French madeleine from Bisou Les Madeleine. We know which we’d prefer! If our delicious food alone isn’t enough to satisfy you with the full whack of festive cheer, you’ll be pleased to know that the Sugar For My Soul bar will be back with a new menu of winter warmers thrown in for good measure. Dashschund Coffee will be serving up teas and coffees, with the added option of a devilishly boozy Baileys hot chocolate for just £4.50! Of course we also have the gift side of things covered. Whether it be a candle from 40 Degree Candles, a beautiful hat from The Hats Project, finest Italian truffles from Mr Truffle, or a Smiles4Miles colouring book you’re sure to find a present for everyone from our wide selection of hand picked retail stalls.


Whilst we want you to treat yourself we all know that Christmas is really about giving to others. It’s a joy to treat your loved ones at Christmas but it’s also important to consider those less fortunate than ourselves, that’s why we’ve teamed up with two local charities to help give to those who may not usually have the luxury of Christmas presents. First Love Foundation will be joining us to host a collection point, where you can drop off food and gifts which will go directly to people facing a crisis in their lives to help make things a little easier for them this Christmas. We’ll also be supporting Toy House London, a community based project in Tower Hamlets, who visit children and their families at home, lend out toys, host workshops and travel around Tower Hamlets in their very popular Mobile Toy Library!


Alongside our amazing traders, we have a whole list of wonderful activities to keep you and the little ones entertained. In keeping with the Limehouse Social Market spirit of conversation, we are excited to introduce a poetic edge to the Market. Alan Wolfson and Eggy Pop (his VW camper van.) will get your festive creativity flowing with his performance poetry and an open mic sessions... so please bring your words with you! Keep warm and burn off a few festive calories with Spinning Circles, who will once again be holding free hula hoop workshops for the whole family, or bring the kiddies to one of our Christmas crafting workshops, where they can make their very own christmas gift tags and cards to take home with them.
