The Club At Vaults Festival 2017

The Club, starring and written by Ruaraidh Murray, comes to London’s Vaults Festival from 1st – 5th March after a hugely successful sell out and critically acclaimed Edinburgh Festival run last year, that premiered this new exciting theatre production. This dark and seedy comedy also stars Mark Farrelly.

Phoenix Nights meets The Sopranos. One night in London’s legendary 90s club The Tardis. If you were there you wouldn't remember anyway…George is facing closure unless he pays the mother of all rent demands. Fortunately, The Tardis is having THE party of the year tonight. Only problem is, George is also due money to feared gangster Dave Sharky, who’ll stop at nothing to crash the party and take the club for himself.

RUARAIDH MURRAY: Edinburgh born writer and creator of the critically acclaimed theatre shows Big Sean, Mikey & Me (2012, dir. Paul Robinson), Bath Time (2013, dir. Tim Stark) and Boxman (2014, dir. Tim Stark) all played to sold-out audiences at Edfringe 2012 – 2015 at the Gilded Balloon as well as across London including Vaults Festival 2015/16. His screenplay for ‘Big Sean, Mikey and Me’ was long listed for BBC Films Screenplay First Award 2016. ‘Boxman’ was awarded funding by Dame Diana Rigg in 2014. He is currently in development with his feature film script ‘No Trees On Tiree’, with British director Douglas Mackinnon attached. Ruaraidh studied acting at the Oxford School of Drama and was a member of the Royal Court and Traverse Theatre’s young writers groups. Theatre acting credits include: F*cked.com at the Traverse Theatre and ‘Trainspotting’ (No.1 UK Tour). Film and TV acting credits include: Borgia (Netflix), Bob Servant (BBC Brian Cox comedy), and Simon Baker’s award winning feature film Night Bus (BFI London Film Festival 2014). Ruaraidh is starring in Simon Baker’s new feature film ‘90 Minutes’ released this year.

Mark Farrelly: Theatre credits since graduating from Cambridge University include Nick in Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Trafalgar Studios, West End, opposite Matthew Kelly), Ayckbourn’s Drowning On Dry Land (Jermyn Street Theatre, opposite Les Dennis), Macbeth at the Greenwich Theatre / Germany’s Globe Theatre, and over 120 performances, across the UK, of the solo plays The Silence of Snow: The Life of Patrick Hamilton and Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope, both of which he also wrote. He has just performed both solo plays at the Arts Theatre in the West End, and is writer and co-star of Howerd’s End, the forthcoming play marking the centenary of comedy legend Frankie Howerd.
