Hilton London Kensington’s spring charity ball has received a boost with the announcement that up and coming String quartet ‘Raven’ will be performing at the fundraising event.

The Ball on Saturday May 9th will be raising money for Hilton in the Community Foundation and 95.8 Capital FM’s Help a London Child. Both charities are committed to supporting disadvantaged children in need.

Raven’s pieces are entirely original arrangements, created by viola player Natalie Holt and violinist Kirsty Mangan. The girls have performed and recorded their energetic interpretations of modern classical music with artists such as Gorillaz, Jools Holland and Leona Lewis and are kindly donating their time for the ball.

Speaking ahead of the event Raven said:

“We are so happy to be supporting such a worthwhile cause and hope our music will add a little something to the evening.”

The ball will offer its guests a range of treats. Aside from the music there will be a four course meal, pre-dinner cocktails sponsored by Brugal Rum and some stunning raffle and auction prizes, including a Caribbean holiday with flights and a stay at the luxurious Caribe Hilton in Puerto Rico.

This is the third year in succession that the hotel on Holland Park Avenue has supported 95.8 Capital FM’s Help a London Child as part of its Hilton in the Community Foundation work. Last year’s ball raised an impressive £15,000 for disadvantaged children.

Alison Palin, General Manager Hilton London Kensington, is delighted to be hosting the Ball. She said:

"The Hilton in the Community Foundation is dedicated to making a real difference to those most in need, wherever Hilton operates. We’re immensely proud of all our team members in Kensington for getting involved in Foundation initiatives and for giving up their time and skills to organise charitable events like this. Last year’s event was a terrific night and I’ve no doubt that this year will be just as much fun. The evening is a wonderful way for everyone associated with our hotel and community to get together in support of a great cause."

Hannorah Lee, Corporate Fundraising Manager for 95.8 Capital FM’s Help a London Child, said:

“95.8 Capital FM’s Help a London Child are delighted to be benefitting from the Hilton Kensington Charity Ball for a third year. The money raised at the event will go towards supporting grass-roots projects in London that provide opportunities to disadvantaged children and young people.”

Both charities have supported a number of projects in the Fulham and Hammersmith borough in the past. Hilton in the Community Foundation has given grants to Hammersmith and Fulham Mencap and BBC Children in Need. Help a London Child have also previously supported a number of local projects including The Lyric Hammersmith Drama Club, Hammersmith Bengali Association and The St Clement and St James Carnival Band.

There are still tickets available for the ball. The evening starts at 6:45 pm with tickets costing just £60 or £600 for a table of ten. Special accommodation packages are also available for £175 per couple, £90 per single. To reserve your places please email [email protected] or call 0207 605 7651.
