Habitual champions of new film directors, Parasol Peccadillo is pleased to announce the theatrical release of the debut feature from Teresa Fabik - The Ketchup Effect on 10th March 2006.
The film has won her the Kurt Linder Scholarship, the Canal+ award at the Göteborg International Film Festival and won over audiences globally for her darkly humorous and frank portrayal of teenage angst and the ubiquitous problem of bullying.
Originally titled, Hip Hip Hora in Sweden, which translated as hip hip whore, this film's story is of Sofie who has been bullied by boys taking compromising pictures of her at a party which they then plaster all over the school's walls the next day. Sofie is shunned by her friends and has to shield her father from the truth (a teacher at her high school) whilst trying to restore her dignity and pride and tackle the bullies head on. This battle does not look winnable.
