Daymns Hall Aerodrome in Upminster, Essex, again opens its gates on the 4th & 5th of August for the Essex Military Vehicle Trusts’ Military and Flying Machines Show, the fastest growing military vehicle show in Essex. We are delighted to welcome the following aircraft, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, ME108, Spirit of kent Spitfire, and more to be confirmed.

As well as everything in the air, on the ground you will also have the chance to see over 300 military vehicles from awesome jeeps to the massive tanks, armoured tank transporters and heavy artillery displays, an armoured vehicle parade. There will also be an opportunity to see over 60 historical reenactment displays depicting life in the military from medieval time’s right up to the modern day of many nations with accurate uniforms and authentic equipment emphasizing the reality of military life. There are many things that may surprise and educate you throughout the day, not least of which is a full size submarine conning tower in the middle of an airfield!
New this year ias the Essex Military Modelling Show with over 15 modelling groups displaying highly detailed and accurate miniture military vehicles.

With live ‘wartime’ entertainment in our 700 person marquee all day, including a 1940's Big Band and 1940's girl singing group, swing dancing lessons, and a live 1940’s worldwide internet radio broadcast, the opportunity to meet and talk with the veterans and Chelsea pensioners, arena activities including firepower demonstrations and mock battles throughout the weekend, a massive militaria fair and family stalls, Helicopter and aircraft rides experiences and activities for the kids including mini Jeep and Mini Landrover rides, and drill with “Major Headache” there will be so much to do for all the family!

Daymns Hall Aerodrome is an excellent location for our events with its distinctive peaceful vintage feel just minutes drive from the M25 and Lakeside Shopping Centre situated close on the Essex/Kent border close to London with easy access from the M25/A13. Over 17,000 people attended last year and the Essex Branch of the Military Vehicle Trust have worked hard to ensure a great day out for all of the family again in 2011.
