Next week, head for Britain’s luxury department store and find yourself in ‘delicious Ireland’. Yes – Ireland: warm- spirited, spontaneous, hospitable. And a place for great food.

The Irish know and appreciate their food. And so does Selfridges. Combine with the expertise of the Irish Food Board and you have an irresistible opportunity for food lovers to savour the flavours of Ireland.

From April 10th, Selfridges Food Hall in London’s Oxford Street will be home to 50 of Ireland’s finest artisan producers, who will be sharing their skills, knowledge and, above all, their love of good food. For three weeks, visitors will be able to enjoy superb Irish food, some available for the first time in this country and exclusive to Selfridges.

Selfridges Food Hall will offer the chance to meet dedicated producers from the length and breadth of Ireland, including bakers, cheese and butter makers, meat curers, salmon and eel smokers, to name just a few. You will be able to sample award-winning cheeses such as Cashel Blue from Tipperary, and Gubbeen from the green valleys of West Cork; taste organic Irish Hot Smoked salmon from the Burren Smokehouse; let the raw-milk butter from Ballymore Farm melt in your mouth; and indulge even further with Skelligs’ handmade strawberry and champagne truffles.

During the three weeks, there will be a host of cookery demonstrations in the Food Hall from some of Ireland’s most influential chefs: Darina Allen of the Ballymaloe cookery school and restaurant – one of Ireland’s finest; Ross Lewis, of the Michelin-starred Dublin restaurant Chapter One (who cooked for the Queen during her recent visit to Ireland); award-winning Catherine Fulvio of County Wicklow’s Ballyknocken; and BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen favourite, Kevin Dundon....not forgetting, of course, the inimitable Richard Corrigan.

Every day there will be something exciting to watch and something different to taste.

Ewan Venters, Selfridges Food Director says, "The Island of Ireland is rich in diverse ingredients, offering the finest heritage, produce and product. The Delicious Ireland event will bring all those credible qualities to London, offering our Food Hall customers the chance to taste, feel and see a snapshot of what Ireland has to offer. We hope our customers enjoy the experience as much as the Artisan Irish producers will, showcasing their products".
