Swim the Mencap Mile

The Mencap Mile is in it's third year, taking place at the prestigious Olympic and Paralympic rowing venue Dorney Lake. Participants will swim a mile of this stunning lake. The event is open to swimmers of all abilities this event is perfect for those wanting to take the plunge and take part in their first open water swim or is great for triathletes in training. The registration fee is £25 for individuals or £60 for a team of 3. There is no minimum fundraising target but we suggest a £50 for single entrants and £150 for a team.

All participants will receive:

* a fundraising pack
* training guidelines
* a goody bag
* a swimming cap

There are also prizes for the fastest male, female and team and the person who raises the most money by 30 October 2012.

Mencap is the UK's leading learning disability charity. The money raised from this event will help us support people with a learning disability to live their lives as they want. Just £50 could pay for two young people with a learning disability to take part in our Gateway Award programme for a year.
