While Londoners get ready for the Olympics, their dogs will be preparing for their own most prestigious competitive event and London’s first dog festival, The Canine Games.

On Saturday 7 July, in the beautiful Haggerston Park, Shoreditch. The day will kick off with its own Opening Ceremony, led by Britain’s now globally renowned Mugly, recently crowned the World’s Ugliest Dog and other patriotic pooches, including the Royal Air Paws Flypast.

As well as a fun day out for dogs and their owners, The Canine Games is supporting several top charities, including Dogs Trust and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and has a strong focus on responsible ownership. Dog owners, and those thinking about getting a dog, can attend talks, speak to pro vets from top clinic, Clerkenwell Animal Hospital, and get advice from adoption charities, we’re even offering free microchipping, courtesy of Dogs Trust.

Unlike other dog shows, The Canine Games welcomes dogs of any size, ability and pedigree (or lack thereof) all with a chance to win big! Whether a dog’s forte is running, wagging or impersonating John McEnroe, they’ll have the opportunity to win a great prize for themself (like a new designer lead) or for their owner (like a dinner at Shoreditch House.)

“Barking up the right tree.” Giles Deacon

Even non-dog owners are welcomed, with an eclectic mix of dog-themed entertainment for all the family throughout this picturesque park. Aside from cheering disobedient mongrels to glory, visitors can enjoy a whole host of treats: get your pooch married in the Chapel of Love; marvel at canine couture on the Haute DogWalk; get itchy to Gavin Turk’s Flea in Galerie de Chien or just laugh like a hyena at the Lady & the Tramp Stage, hosted by Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club; with some of East London's Top Dogs from Jonny Woo as Dorothy Gale to The House of Hot Breath’s awe-inspiring Olympic Hotdog Eating Contest!

For dog owners, potential owners and anyone who’s ever forwarded one of those You Tube dog videos, The Canine Games is the hotdoggest happening of the summer. Reserve tickets now to guarantee a place and register online.
