About the event
:
With a shared admiration for the designs and collections of Sir John Soane, three artists present a contemporary response to his architectural legacy.
Inspired by the life and work of Sir John Soane, artists Emily Allchurch, Anne Desmet, and Catrin Huber each present new site-specific works to be displayed inside Pitzhanger Manor House.
Catrin Huber will bathe the space in a succession of coloured projections, echoing and complementing Soane’s sky paintings and theatrical use of light. Weaving in elements of Ancient Rome, Anne Desmet collages architectural engravings on to glass lenses, pebbles, shells and tile fragments, whilst references to other classical architecture are also abundant in the meticulous photographic collages of Emily Allchurch.
