A nice walk through town

The best way to get to know a city is to walk. Ofcourse the London weather is not always good for a walk, but when ever I have the chance I take a long walk through the city. Once I started at Primrose Hill and ended up at the Tower Bridge. A long walk, but a sort of history of London. One of my favorite walks is on the South Bank. I start of at Leicester Square. I walk pass the National Portrait Gallery to Trafalger Square. From there it is off to White Hall, towards Westminster. I cross the bridge close to the Big Ben, and descent the stairs on the left side. There you find the busiest part of the South Bank. The London Eye, the Aquarium and lots of other things can be found there. When you walk around that area around Christmas time, you find a little Christmas Market and Dickensian Carol Singers. A little furter on the South Bank it is more quiet. You see some beautiful sightings of London across the river. You can walk all the way up to the Tower Bridge, but you can also stop earlier. I never walk up to the Tower Bridge, and cross one of the bridges earlier. At the end of one of them, you find the Sherlock Holmes pub. There you can get a nice pint to end your walk. Ofcourse there are many more routes you can take in London, but this is one of my favorites. It is a sort of trip into history. You see old buildings, but also new. I never take the roads that are mentioned in books. The best way to find things is to walk around yourself. I was in for some nice surprises when I strolled around London on lost Sunday mornings. I also like to window shop in New Bond street. It is less crowded that Oxfod Street, and you find some beautiful shop windows there. I can´t afford any of the things on display, but I always find it nice to look around and see the shops. I wonder what I see on my next trip to London.
