LFW Day 1 - Paul Costelloe

Love London

Paul Costelloe opened London Fashion Week this morning with a feast of autumnal tailoring. Boxy jackets and short swing skirts were the order of the day, in a palette of greens, pinks and shades of rust and mustard. Plaids and tartans were the fabrics of choice, with gorgeous colour combinations of slate and plum, sage green and stone and a cacophony of pink. Models paraded down the catwalk in frizzy fringed red bobbed wigs (at least I hope they were wigs…) an interesting look that managed to complement the clothes. Skirts were short – perfect for showing off post-summer gym-honed legs (here’s hoping…). The seemingly ubiquitous floral print reared it’s head in the form of a big brightly coloured floral on black background, featuring on a pair of wide legged palazzo pants – one of the few trousers in the show. A great start to the week.
