Maria Grachvogel showed her AW11 collection in the Savoy Ballroom, a fitting location for such a fabulously feminine affair. A fairly neutral palette of stone, black and ivory was accentuated with flashes of vibrant orange, as well as gorgeously subtle prints – from a distance reminiscent of a cross between snakeskin and tie dye – in tones of teal and grey. Draping was the prevailing theme, with cowl necks, loose fitting trousers and billowing bias cut skirts wafting effortlessly along to the ethereal soundtrack. The whole thing was simply sensational. My favourite look was a black lace blouse with bishop sleeves, tucked into ivory silk trousers, very chic.
