Caroline Charles' AW11 collection had a definite English Country Lady thing going on. Ladylike pencil skirts, tailored jackets and pussy bows were accessorised with bowler hats and fedoras galore. Somewhat 40s silhouettes were accentuated with an autumnal colour palette of reds, browns, rusts, hints of gold and flashes of scarlet and teal as well as the ubiquitous black (I challenge you to find an AW collection without it...). It wasn't groundbreaking stuff, but Charles knows how to do classic femininity and knows her clientele. I did like the black scoop neck shift with lace sleeves, and there was a pretty chic black leather pencil skirt.
