Bathtime just got a whole lot better thanks to the blissful new range from Connock London. Founded by Amanda Connock, the concept of the collection is to unveil little known, exotic natural ingredients that have been used in their native countries for centuries.
The first collection features the luxurious Kukui oil sourced exclusively from Hawaii, from a family Amanda and her family have known and worked with for over 20 years. Amanda's parents established a highly acclaimed raw ingredients supplier in 1973 to supply speciality natural ingredients to the perfumery and cosmetics trade - her father's passion clearly rubbed off on her as she's now established an enviable brand of her own.
Kukui Oil has been used by Hawaiians for centuries to keep skin soft and smooth, yet is a little known ingredient to the rest of the world. An excellent emollient, it is highly penetrating to the skin and improves suppleness and elasticity as well as soothing minor irritations. The oil contains very high levels of linoletic and alpha-linolenic acids (essential fatty acids) and provides effective treatment for the symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and acne.
The current range consists of a beautifully luxurious Soothing Bath Oil, containing a blend of Kukui, Macadamia and Tamanu oils, making it ideal for dry, sensitive or irritated skin. My new bathroom essential, its heavenly scent is perfect for a languid relaxing bath. The Comforting Body Wash is enriched with aloe vera, vitamin E and Papaya extract, while the Kukui Oil Soap contains shea butter to really nourish the skin. Top it all off with the Hydrating Body Lotion, a deeply moisturing lotion with an instantly hydrating feather light formula, sealing in moisture and plumping up the skin. The range is completed with the Wonder Balm, a nourishing balm containing a blend of Kukui Oil, Monoi, cocoa butter, mango butter and beeswax, a perfect treatment for extremely dry areas including elbows, lips and cuticles - a handbag must have.
My favourite has to be the incredible scented candle. Luxuriously infused with the sensual, exotic fragrance of Hawaiian flowers, the heady and romantic floral notes of Gardenia and Jasmine are sure to transport you to a tropical island getaway!
